The Laramie Range Enduro will not take place in 2001. As you may know, the race left and returned to Laramie across private land (probably about 15 miles worth of trail). That land changed owners this summer and the new owner has indicated that he will not allow the race to cross his land. He admits that the race left virtually no trace or otherwise negatively impacted his ranching operation, but his lawyer advised against allowing access. We're now directing our energies to negotiating some type of limited recreational use of those trails as, at this point, he intends to close down all access this spring. I never thought we would ever see trail access issues arise here... The lesson -- join IMBA and always present yourself as a good ambassador for the sport.
