My name is Shantana DeeVon Banta. I was born in Rexburg, Idaho. I grew up in Star Valley, Wyoming (GO BRAVES!) and now I am currently attending the University of Wyoming. I am a sophomore journalism major who likes to run in the sun and play in the shade.
I chose journalism as my major after my second semester
at UW when I was hired as a copy desk editor for the Branding Iron.In 2004
the newspaper was nominated by the Associated Collegiate Press.
After working there I knew that I wanted to layout and design for a
living. So I began taking reporting classes and this sparked my interest
in writing. I wrote for the newspaper about three times. This gave me
confidence and I knew that journalism was the real deal for me.
That is when I realised that I wanted to be a journalism professor. I
desire to show students what journalism is about, and that for some people
it can be the right career choice. The only down side I am seeing to my
desicison is that I will not be making very good money, but hey I'll still
keep on keepin' on. Anyway, I plan to attend graduate school immediately
after I graduate, and also buy a puppy. Its name will be Rosco and it will
be little and cute and we will go for walks together on nice summer
afternoons. If you would like to see some of the cutest puppies ever visit
a great Web site on Cute
Puppies.

As of right now life for me is fantastic. I love my friends, family, and life in general! If you want to see my life in action see my photo page. Thanks for visiting and come again!
