My name is Michael Warren originally born in Wisconsin I moved to Laramie to attend the University of Wyoming. I am currently working on a degree in Animal Science with an emphasis on Production. I chose this major because of my interest in animals and it also coincides with my Associates degree in applied science in Equine Management and Training. I do whish the University offered a Production degree specializing in Equine Production, but for now I believe my major is the best for me and what I want to do. I think that this major is a good fitting one for myself as I have aspirations to one day become a horse trainer/breeder. I think that along with my degree I already have and the Animal Science degree I am currently working on I should be able to not only reach this goal, but hopefully surpass it.
I have plans on owning my own breeding and training farm. I feel I
am qualified to begin training, but would like to be able to offer more.
While working on my Associated Degree I developed an interest in horse
breeding. Breeding is a great way to make your mark in the horse industry
and also a more realistic way to pay bills as opposed to training.
Training can be a very profitable business, but is too similar to the
entertainment industry. There are millions of people all trying to reach
the same goal and unfortunately only the best of the best will ever make
it to the top. By expanding my education, especially in this area, I feel
I will have more career options than just Equine training and Management.
Hopefully attending the University will bring me closer to reaching these
goals.
