Thoughts for Now and the Future

Possible Futures

I chose Agroecology as a major and Horticulture and Entomology as minors. These areas just seemed the most interesting to me. I have an interest in music too, but I think that it would be best if I kept that interest as a hobby right now.

I hope to go to Africa as well as anywhere else the wind may blow me; hopefully wherever I go I can use the knowledge I gain to help different peoples out with their agricultural problems. Wherever I go, I would like to study the cultures and music of the different areas. Someday, (probably a long time from now) I hope to open my own greenhouse and conservatory including insects, birds and all, and see what happens from there.

In the next year or two, I hope to get a job in Africa (most likely in Kenya) with an agency called AMREF. This agency uses small airplanes and private pilots to fly doctors and medical supplies around to remote villages. Right now I am debating on whether to start on my paramedic's license to help out with this plan.
