This web page is dedicated to those of you who spend your weekdays or weekends out riding with your friends and family. You ride because you enjoy the fresh air of the outdoors and because you wouldn't rather be doing anything else, at least I wouldn't. Snowmobiling lets us see places that most other people don't get to see. We can ride hundreds of miles of groomed trails or get off the trails and boondock through deep powder. So, keep having fun out there and remember to ride responsibly. I hope all of you enjoy this sport as much as I do and work to preserve it for future generations.
In case you haven't heard, Yellowstone National Park is planning on closing winter use to snowmobiles during the winter permanently! This is not a good sign for many people across the snowmobiling community. I know that Yellowstone National Park is not the only place to snowmobile, but if it gets closed to snowmobiles then many other wilderness areas could follow in its footsteps. Closing the park is not the solution to cleaning the park of pollutants that are left by snowmobiles in emissions each year. Snowmobile manufacturers are working to produce cleaner and quieter snowmobile engines so that we may continue to ride in areas such as Yellowstone National Park. I believe that snowmobiles and wildlife can co-exist, but it is going to take cooperation by both snowmobilers and the United States Forest Service. So, take action and e-mail your state senators and representatives. Tell them to protect our public lands from being closed off to recreation and to preserve public lands for the public not from the public. Thank You!
