In the last two years, Gabe Cook has had a dream. That dream was to create his own music, a type of music unlike any heard before.

You are the very first to hear about Blue's Roan. The purpose of this web page is to introduce you to Gabe's dream, and discuss what Blue's Roan is all about. The meaning of the name of this one-man-band is obscure. Blues, refers to the fact that this music has many blues characteriestics. Roan refers to a color of a horse, and horses have been an integral part of Gabe Cook's life. Blue's Roan takes components of blues, acoustic rock, folk, and 90's alternative music. Musical acts such as Tracy Cha pman, Live, Our Lady Peace, Lynard Skynard, Jennifer Knapp, K's Choice, Bush, Nirvana, and the Eagles have had a profound influence on Gabe, and his musical creations.

Gabe does his vocals, and all instrumentation for his music, with the exception of rhythm. He plays guitar, and has made it a point to stray from an understanding of musical theory, and play from his heart, using a plethora of open chords, and using the blues scale as much as possible Gabe has created a unique "edgy yet soothing" sound.

In his first collection of songs, "All of Life's Troubles," Gabe writes deep songs deeling with his family life, relationships, and the meaning of life. He also spends a great deal of time focusing on how special, challenged people are. Gabe's p urpose in writing these songs, are to have an effect on who ever listens to them, and he is determined to make his songs have more of a meaning than those that are played on the radio.
