What is LINLOGIT?

LINLOGIT is a computer program that will calculate the y-intercept and slope of a logistic function. It does this by using a maximum likelihood algorithm that was published in Haberman, S. J. (1978) Analysis of Qulaitative Data Volume I. Introductory Topics. Academic Press, New York. Anyway, LINLOGIT also allow users to "tweak" a linear logistic function by power-transforming the X (independent) variable. When this is done, LINLOGIT will calculate a residual sum of squares for each power transformation attempted. After several such power transformations have been performed, a user can compare values of their residual sum of squares; the logistic function which makes that value the least should then be selected for further examination (i.e., graphical diagnostics).

Before You Download LINLOGIT....

  • You will need a copy of WINZIP to extract the program and data files
  • You will need to decide on the drive and subdirectory (folder) in which to place the program and data files

  • Before You can Run LINLOGIT....

  • You will need to extract the program and data file (do this with WINZIP)

  • To Download LINLOGIT....

  • There is just one executable file, linlogit.exe
  • There is also a practice data file, example.dat
  • Click here to download the compressed file, linlogit.zip
