Charlie Chase's Homepage

I am currently a freshman geography major at The University of Wyoming. I have always enjoyed learning about the earth, and people's interactions with it, so I figured geography would be a great major to have. I also am very involved in the music department here at the University of Wyoming. I participate and have participated in The University of Wyoming Western Thunder Marching Band, Jazz Ensemble III, and The Singing Statesmen. I also enjoy music for my leisure as I play both guitar and bass. Geography is my primary focus though.

I also enjoy the outdoors. Fishing, hunting, skiing, and backpacking are all hobbies of mine. I would have to say that fishing and skiing are by far my favorites. I enjoy fishing because of the challenge it presents, plus it is something that can be enjoyed for an entire lifetime. I enjoy skiing because I'm an adrenaline junky. The feelings I get from skiing are some of the best I've ever experienced.

As far as myself in five years, I'm not really sure exactly what I'm going to do. I want to be involved with G.I.S. (Geographic Information Systems) in some way. This currently is the most rapidly growing field in geography, so the future looks bright in that aspect. Or perhaps I might do something along the lines of fluvial geomorphology, or the effects that flowing water has on the land, both of those interest me a lot. I do wish to continue on with my music by keeping involved with various ensembles. Most of all though I wish to be done with college for a little while.
